Pare ("Pare," "we," "us," or "our") is an iOS application published by Pointed Designs LLC ("Company"). This Privacy Policy explains how Pare handles your information. The short version: Pare runs entirely on your device. We do not collect, transmit, store, or sell your personal information.
The core principle
Pare is designed to help you make space on your phone and tidy your digital content — photos, videos, screenshots, files, contacts, calendar events, and reminders. All of this happens locally on your device. Pare has no user accounts, no servers of our own, and no cloud backend. Your content and your decisions about it never leave your device by way of Pare.
Information Pare accesses (but does not collect)
To do its job, Pare requests your permission to access certain content on your device. Accessing this content on-device is not the same as collecting it — Pare reads this information locally to show it to you for review, and does not transmit it anywhere.
Photos and videos. With your permission, Pare accesses your photo library so you can review and pare items. Analysis (such as detecting blurry images or duplicates) happens on your device.
Contacts. With your permission, Pare accesses your contacts so you can review and pare duplicates or unwanted entries.
Calendar and Reminders. With your permission, Pare accesses your calendar events and reminders so you can review and pare past or unneeded items.
Files. When you choose a folder, Pare accesses the files within it so you can review and pare them. Pare only accesses folders you explicitly select.
Pare accesses this content solely to provide its functionality, on your device, at your request. Pare does not upload, back up, transmit, or retain copies of this content on any external server.
Information we do not collect
We do not collect personal information.
We do not use analytics or tracking SDKs.
We do not use advertising or share data with advertisers.
We do not collect device identifiers for tracking.
We do not maintain user accounts or profiles.
We do not sell or rent your information to anyone, because we do not have it.
Data you delete
When you pare (delete) an item, Pare removes it using Apple's standard system frameworks.
Photos and videos deleted through Pare are moved to your device's "Recently Deleted" album (per iOS behavior), where they remain recoverable for a limited time before permanent deletion.
Files, contacts, calendar events, and reminders may be deleted permanently and may not be recoverable, depending on the item type and your device/iCloud configuration. Pare shows you a confirmation before any deletion is finalized.
If you use iCloud (for example, iCloud Photos or iCloud Drive), deletions you make in Pare may sync to your other devices and to iCloud according to Apple's settings and behavior. This syncing is controlled by Apple and your device settings, not by Pare.
Pare does not retain copies of anything you delete.
Subscriptions and purchases
Pare offers an optional subscription ("Pare Plus"). Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store, subject to Apple's Privacy Policy. We do not receive or store your payment information. Apple may provide us with aggregate, non-identifying sales and subscription data through App Store Connect; this does not identify you personally.
Diagnostic information
Pare does not send us crash reports or diagnostic data. If you have enabled Apple's "Share With App Developers" setting at the iOS level, Apple may share anonymized crash information with us through Apple's own systems, subject to Apple's policies and your device settings. You can control this in your iOS Settings.
Children's privacy
Pare is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect information from children. Because Pare does not collect personal information from anyone, this applies to all users.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide notice within the app or on our website. Your continued use of Pare after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
